WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS ON ROADS TO BE ENFORCED

Beginning Friday February 26 at 7:00 a.m. weight restrictions will be enforced on all Isabella County Paved and gravel roads. Maximum loadings permitted in accordance with state laws are 11,700 punds per single axle vehicles, 20,800 pounds on tandem axle vehicles with one tandem assembly, and 16,900 pounds maximum for all other tandem assemblies. The maximum allowed loading reduces the normal loading 35 percent during the spring while the frost is going out of the roadbed. Allowable speed limit for trucks on county roads during this period is reduced to 35 mph. The restrictions will be lifted after all of the frost is gone and the roadbeds have dried out sufficiently.
